Yuletide Bangerz

Unless you’re some anarcho-primitivist out in the wilderness, its impossible to escape the yuletide cheer. Its everywhere. Even in Japan where people are basically born into Shinto practices, marry Christian, and die Buddhist, the lack of Judeo-Christian theism just means more prayer at the alter of commerce. That’s cool. Enjoy yourselves. I’m not here to tell you to seize the means of production from Ebenezer Scrooge. (Although you should do that too) I’m here to be a Grinch and gripe about the constant stream of played out and boring Christmas songs. Outside of Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas,” I could probably go without hearing any of the Great American Christmas Song Book ever again. Even the hip-hop culture alternatives like Run DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” or Outkast’s “Player’s Ball” have become a bit tiresome. And “A Christmas Miracle” by Run the Jewels doesn’t really bring that same yuletide cheer.

So If you still wanna have a little seasonal cheer and are tried of the usual suspects, here are a few Christmas music alternatives. Have a Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.
